Performance art and found objects- it is amazing what you can produce

A recent project required the design and delivery of a 5 minute piece of performance art. The theme selected was ‘Macbeth’, and my performance partner and I decided to go lo-fi, with red cellophane, and an overhead projector, simplified cut outs of the key characters and images, plus an abbreviated narrative (approximately 5 words per act plus a few quotes). A plastic cup exaggerated the faux Scottish accent dramatically. A nearby skeleton was pulled into service and three bike lamps created 3 rib cage shadows on the ceiling. The performance was filmed. I then imported the MOV file into iMovie and used freeze frame select key images. These are re-assembled as a run sequence summary below.

I don’t think that Steven Spielberg or Martin Scorsese should feel challenged any time soon.
